Golden State Warriors news: Bronny James, the son of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, has been making all sorts of headlines of late. This is after the heir apparent of the NBA’s all-time leading scorer announced his decision to enter the 2024 NBA Draft. Not only that but the 19-year-old also decided to enter the transfer portal, thereby marking the end of his career with the USC Trojans after just one season.
There has been a lot of talk surrounding Bronny’s NBA dream, with more than a few folks claiming that the Sierra Canyon High School product will struggle to find success in the pros. One man who is having none of this, however, is Warriors star Draymond Green.
Golden State Warriors News: Draymond Green Sings Bronny’s Praises
For his part, Green has no doubt in his mind that LeBron’s son will find his own in the NBA. The Warriors veteran also has a special message for anyone and everyone who continues to doubt Bronny:
“Bronny 100% will be a successful player in the NBA,” Green said (h/t Jake Rogers of Yardbarker).
“… Number one, he knows how to work. If you don’t think he knows how to work, go look at Bronny from his freshman year to sophomore, sophomore to junior, junior to senior. There, you’ll see a kid who knows how to work because you can see the improvement in his game, his body, his athleticism.”
Green then went on to argue that the floor is pretty high for the younger James:
“At worst, Bronny is an NBA-level defender that can knock a shot down,” said the Warriors talisman. “… Bronny got a really good shot. Didn’t shoot the ball all that great this year, but his mechanics are great, and he’s always shot the ball great.”
The Timing Is Right
Being the type of player that he is, timing is always key for a guy like Green. This is exactly why he believes now is the right time for Bronny to turn pro, considering the players that are included in this year’s draft class:
“I also think it’s a smart move for him to go in this NBA Draft because this NBA Draft will go down probably as one of the worst in NBA history from a top talent standpoint. There’s not even a consensus No. 1 pick. I think it’s a great decision, and I definitely think Bronny will be a successful NBA player.”
You have to say, the man has a couple of pretty compelling arguments here.
