The season is over for Bronny James and the USC Trojans, but they’re back in the headlines amid rumors of the freshman looking to play for another school via the transfer portal. Bronny’s dad, LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers, however, indicated that his eldest son hasn’t made such a decision — yet.
LeBron was asked about his thoughts on Bronny’s status amid a torrent of posts online, particularly on X (formerly Twitter) saying that the younger James has already decided to test the waters of the college basketball transfer portal.
College Basketball Fans, World React To USC Trojans’ Bronny James Transfer Portal Rumors

“The “Bronny James is portaling” tweet having 5k RTs with no real consideration of whether or not it’s true is a pretty good barometer what of the internet is right now,” said Kevin Sweeney.
“Let the Bronny James sweepstakes begin 🍿 Where should Bronny play next season?,” FanDuel’s X account posted.
“Let’s try this again: Bronny James, you are an OHIO STATE BUCKEYE,” commented @SirYach.
The Ohio State Buckeyes will always find themselves linked to Bronny James whenever such transfer rumors arise. After all, the Buckeyes are close to LeBron’s heart, as he’s from Ohio and is a known big fan of the school, particularly its football program.

Bronny’s first season in college was not exactly a memorable one, at least based on the statistics he put up for the Trojans. He averaged just 4.8 points, 2.1 assists, and 2.8 rebounds per game while shooting only 36.6 percent from the field and 26.7 percent from deep.
A change of scenery could help Bronny James, but whether that would be the right move is something that remains to be seen.
