The Golden State Warriors inch closer to their postseason dreams after a huge win against the Memphis Grizzlies. The 137-116 win was a statement game as the Dubs managed to win despite their star man misfiring from multiple angles.
One of the players who played well during the game was Draymond Green. While he’s no longer the overpowering forward who terrorized the league during the peak years of the Warriors dynasty, he showed everyone how important he still is to the Warriors’ offense.
However, he didn’t only win on the court. His off-court interaction with his daughter should also make a couple of hearts melt.
Draymond Green shares tender moment with daughter after Golden State Warriors win
During the press conference, the 12-year veteran was talking to the press when he had to do a bit of parenting in front of the press.
Jay Soria of NBA Sports Bay Area wrote about the moment that soothed the edge off the game a little bit for everyone:
While speaking to reporters, the Warriors forward had a heartwarming father-daughter moment, consoling his daughter after an apparent disagreement with her brother, Green’s son DJ.
“Y’all fighting a little bit?” Green asked his daughter. “OK, go give your brother a hug.
“Give your sister a hug, like a real hug. Thank you.”
However, the fact that he talked about letting cool heads reign being ironic to the bench-clearing altercation he was involved in earlier in the game didn’t escape the attention of the press.
Green was a solid big man for Steve Kerr’s Warriors, finishing the night with 10 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists on 24 minutes of play.
Can Green and the Golden State Warriors still make the playoffs?
The Warriors are barely hanging on to their play-in ticket. Their 36-32 regular-season record only places them slightly ahead of the Houston Rockets, and they will need to win a good chunk of their final 14 games if they want to book their playoff ticket.
Green must also play at the same level if he wants his team to have another shot at adding to their ring collection.
