After starting the season strong and trading for Pascal Siakam before the deadline, the Indiana Pacers have run into some sort of wall. As a result, All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton let some steam out in the form of an NSFW rant recently.
Before the point guard fired away with his rant, his team faced the Cleveland Cavaliers in their own home court and lost with a score of 108-103. Caris LeVert stepped up in the absence of Donovan Mitchell and dropped 23 points and 11 rebounds on Indiana. Jarrett Allen made 23 points as well, including nine rebounds, while Marcus Morris added 14 points, including the game-winning dagger in the dying seconds of the contest.
On the other hand, the former Sacramento Kings rookie made 14 points, six rebounds, and 12 assists as the starting point guard for that game. Pascal Siakam led Indiana by posting 19 points and 12 rebounds in 31 minutes on the court.
The win helped Cleveland solidify its hold on the East’s third seed with a 43-25 record. Meanwhile, Indy is in seventh place with 38 wins and 31 losses, sandwiched between the Philadelphia 76ers and Miami Heat in the standings.
Indiana Pacers Star Tyrese Haliburton Unleashes NSFW Rant
After the game, Haliburton spoke to reporters about how Indiana lost to the Cavaliers. At some point, the All-Star point guard went on an NSFW rant, which can be seen in a post shared by Alex Golden on X:
A very dejected Tyrese Haliburton after the game tonight: “I’ve never went through a stretch like this in my life. This s*** sucks. It seems like everyone has the f***ing answer but it’s about me figuring s*** out,” Golden tweeted.
In 32 minutes on the court, the All-Star guard shot an abysmal 28 percent from the field and 11 percent from deep. These numbers are a far cry to his career averages of 20.4 points on 47 percent shooting from the field and 35 from beyond the arc. If things don’t get better fast, those numbers will go down further.
It remains to be seen whether Haliburton will find his groove back for his team. What’s certain, though, is that the Indiana star needs to act fast, or his team will drop further down the standings. Otherwise, Indy will end up in the Play-In Tournament where they risk losing a playoff spot or end up facing a stronger squad than they are in the postseason.
