All eyes were on Monday’s much-anticipated Elite Eight matchup between the Iowa Hawkeyes and the LSU Tigers. It was a rematch for the ages as Caitlin Clark looked to make amends for last season’s championship game loss to Angel Reese and Co.
As it turns out, the hype surrounding this mouthwatering duel was completely real. So much so, that Iowa and LSU just combined to set a new all-time record for being the most-watched women’s college basketball game ever.

That’s a whole lot of eyes on a single game. Thankfully, both teams did not leave the viewers disappointed as they battled in an epic showdown that lived up to all the pre-game hype.
Reese did her bit for LSU, finishing with a monster 17-point, 20-rebound double-double with four assists, two steals, and three blocks in what was the final game of his college career.
It was Clark, however, who stole the show with her 41-point explosion in this winner-take-all matchup. The greatest scorer in NCAA Division I history knocked down nine triples on the evening to put an end to what had been a tremendous campaign for the Tigers.
The Hawkeyes are now just two wins away from a national championship. They face the No. 3 seed UConn Huskies in the Final Four on Friday.
