LSU Tigers star Angel Reese could not help but get emotional in her post-game press conference on Monday night. This was the 21-year-old played her final game for LSU, which resulted in a heartbreaking loss at the hands of Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
After the tough defeat, Reese revealed that she “hasn’t been happy” ever since winning the championship last season.
LSU Tigers Rally Behind Angel Reese

Reese broke down in tears as she opened up about the nightmare experience she’s had to go through this past season. According to the LSU star, she’s proud of herself for being able to withstand all the hate that has been thrown in her direction:
"I just try to stay strong… I've been attacked so many times. Death threats, I've been sexualized, I've been threatened… I'm still human. All this has happened since I won the national championship & I haven't been happy since then."

You can’t help but feel for this young lady. Regardless of what she does on the basketball court, there’s just no excuse to treat a player the way she has been over the past season.
As it turns out, Reese’s teammates feel exactly the same way as she came to her defense shortly after Angel’s heartfelt confession.

Flau’Jae Johnson was the first to speak out as she blasted the media for their unfair depiction of her teammate. Guard Hailey Van Lith seconded Johnson’s statement while also describing just how emotionally strong Reese has been through all this:

As both Johnson and Van Lith pointed out, they would not be where they are today had it not been for Reese.
