Iowa Hawkeyes news: The winner of the 2024 John R. Wooden Award Women’s Player of the Year was announced on Tuesday, and it comes as no surprise that it’s Caitlin Clark who’s taking home the trophy.
The 22-year-old adds another feather in her cap — perhaps the final one — after what has been a truly iconic college basketball career.
Iowa Hawkeyes News: Caitlin Clark Goes Back-to-Back
The John R. Wooden awarding body made the announcement on Tuesday evening via Twitter as they congratulated Clark for a truly unforgettable campaign:

There really wasn’t much doubt about who was going to bag this coveted honor. The likes of JuJu Watkins, Angel Reese, and Paige Bueckers, to name a few, all had memorable years, but there’s no denying that it’s Clark who had the most impactful season.
This past year, Clark set the all-time NCAA Division I scoring all-time record for both the women’s and the men’s games. She also led the Hawkeyes to a National Championship berth after a tremendous March Madness run. Perhaps most importantly, she elevated women’s basketball to a new level and has certainly left quite a legacy in the NCAA.
Congratulations are in order for this young lady, who will now embark on the next chapter of her career. The WNBA better be ready for the arrival of Caitlin Clark because she’s definitely going to take the league by storm.
