Reliable sources have told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette that D.J. Wagner, a former Kentucky guard who was a consensus 5-star prospect in high school, committed to Arkansas this weekend.
Another Kentucky Wildcats Player Elects to Transfer to Arkansas

Wagner spent his freshman season in Lexington during the 2023-24 college basketball season — Calipari’s last year with the Kentucky Wildcats as head coach. That season, Wagner averaged 9.9 points, 3.3 assists, and 1.9 rebounds through 28 games — all starts — while also shooting 40.5 percent from the field and 29.2 percent from behind the arc.
Wagner will look to further develop his skills with Arkansas, perhaps with a focus on his shooting accuracy and ability to create shots for others.

Ever since Calipari was named head coach of the Razorbacks, Arkansas has been busy on the transfer portal front. Apart from DJ Wagner, other notable transfers who committed to Arkansas are two other former Kentucky players in Adou Thiero and Zvonimir Ivisic. Moreover, Wagner will also be teammates now with former Florida Atlantic Owls star and March Madness hero Johnell Davis.
Wagner should not take much time to acclimatize himself to his new surroundings, given the fact that he’s going to be around some former teammates and will still be under the same head coach he played for last season.
