Having NBA stars appear in music videos isn’t anything new. But if Nicki Minaj had her way, the musician would have Los Angeles Clippers forward Paul George in one of her videos. Turns out, the All-Star had a pretty good reason rejecting Minaj.
Throughout the course of his career in the NBA, George has been one of the better players of his generation. In 14 seasons, the All-Star forward has averaged 20.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.7 steals per game.
Apart from those numbers, George has amassed several accolades during his time in the league. the Clippers forward has played in nine All-Star Games, led the league in steals during the 2018-19 season, named to six All-NBA teams, and won Most Improved Player of the year in 2013.
Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj is also a force to be reckoned with in the world of music. The rapper is among the best-selling music artists in the world, and has won a number of major accolades. These include those given by the American Music Awards, MTV Music Awards, Bet Awards, and Billboard Music Awards, among others.
Los Angeles Clippers Star Paul George Shares Reason Why He Rejected Nicki Minaj’s Music Video Invite
Just recently, George appeared in an episode of his podcast and shared how Minaj invited her to appear in a music video. The Los Angeles Clippers star reveals what happened next:

While George’s wife may seem like the natural reason for the NBA star to say no, his busy schedule was the true culprit behind him rejecting Minaj’s offer. Rightfully so, because he spends most the year travelling and competing against other NBA teams.
With the playoffs approaching, the Clippers must race against time to get a higher seed. But in the event George ends up with some spare time, it’d be hard for him to say no if Minaj invites him again.
