Russell Westbrook played in just his fourth game back for the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday against the Charlotte Hornets after more than three weeks out with a fractured hand. Apparently, the former NBA MVP was heckled by the home fans in Charlotte throughout the first half, which prompted Westbrook to confront one supporter during the break.

A brief clip of Westbrook arguing with a fan is now making its rounds on social media. In it, the Clippers veteran is seen calling out the said supporter for “disrespecting his game.” The fan wasn’t backing down either, which prompted an NSFW response from Russ:

The clip does not show the full altercation but it appears that the incident did not escalate significantly. However, it remains unclear what the fan may have said to cause this reaction from the oft-criticized Westbrook.
It’s also a good thing that a security personnel was standing beside the Clippers veteran during the heated discussion to avoid an untoward incident between Westbrook and the fan.

Westbrook finished Sunday’s 130-118 win with 11 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two steals in 20 minutes off the bench. This victory allowed LA to strengthen its hold on the fourth spot in the West. They are now 47-27 and are two games ahead of the fifth-placed New Orleans Pelicans.
Westbrook and Co. return to action on Tuesday against the Sacramento Kings.
