After losing to a Caitlin Clark-led Iowa Hawkeyes team in the Elite Eight bracket, many expected Angel Reese to pop up again in the days leading to the WNBA Draft. Turns out, there’s another reason why the LSU Tigers star needed to go public again.
A few weeks ago, Reese and the Tigers faced off against Clark’s Hawkeyes before either team can make the Final Four. In that game, the latter went home with the 94-87 win over LSU. The NCAA’s all-time leading scorer went off for Iowa by dropping 41 points, seven rebounds, and 12 assists. Kate Martin made 21 points by connecting seven of her 11 attempts from downtown, while Sydney Affolter added 16 points.
The Tigers, on the other hand, saw Flau’Jae Johnson hit 75 percent from beyond the arc to notch 23 points. Angel Reese had a monster performance as well by contributing 17 points and 20 assists. Mikaylah WIlliams made 18 points and seven rebounds in LSU’s final game of the season.
The loss effectively ended Reese’s college basketball career and she is now on her way to the WNBA. But before she can go pro, the LSU Tigers star may need to face another rumor along the way.
LSU Tigers Star Angel Reese Debunks Rumors She Has a Boyfriend
Just recently, Reese was caught on video talking to someone while holding her phone. Various comments on social media have tried to lipread what she said and many have alleged that the Tigers star has a boyfriend.
For her part, Reese shared her official reaction to the rumor on her official X account:
this is not what i said lmaooo i don’t have a man AT ALL. https://t.co/554t9R95BE
— Angel Reese (@Reese10Angel) April 13, 2024
Apart from proving what online lipreaders have assumed, Reese went beyond by saying she has no boyfriend at all. It remains to be seen whether the future WNBA star will add more context to her reaction or there’ll be nothing more to say in the following days.
Hopefully, the focus will be more on Reese’s chances in the upcoming draft. The said event will be held on April 16, and the LSU star is expected to high in the lottery.
