The time has finally come for the Minnesota Timberwolves. After weeks of talk surrounding Karl-Anthony Towns’ return to action, the date has finally been set for his much-awaited comeback.
According to reports, the four-time All-Star will make his highly-anticipated return to the court on Friday against the Atlanta Hawks.
Minnesota Timberwolves News: Karl-Anthony Towns Set to Play Friday
It was ESPN’s NBA guru Adrian Wojnarowski who first broke the news on Twitter. Per Woj, KAT has now been upgraded from questionable to available for Friday’s contest against the Hawks:

This has been a long time coming after it was previously revealed that Minnesota intends to let Towns play a couple of games before the playoffs begin. The 7-foot big man, who has been sidelined for more than a month due to a meniscus injury, will now get to suit up for two games to get himself back into game shape ahead of the postseason.
Prior to the injury, KAT started 60 games for the Wolves, averaging 22.1 points on 50.6 percent shooting, 8.4 rebounds, and 3.0 assists, while also knocking down 2.2 triples on a 42.3 percent clip.
While these last two remaining games will be crucial in terms of preparing Towns for the grueling postseason ahead, Minnesota is still also in the midst of a tight race for supremacy in the West.
Right now, they are tied in second with the Oklahoma City Thunder and are just one game behind the top-seeded Denver Nuggets. Needless to say, the last two remaining games will determine who finishes the regular season as the top seed in the conference.
