Donte DiVincenzo saved the date for the New York Knicks on Monday night. The 27-year-old capped off a furious comeback by the Knicks in the dying seconds of the contest to escape with a miraculous 104-101 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 2 of their first-round series.

Thanks to DiVincenzo’s heroics, the Knicks are now up 2-0 in the series after protecting their home court against an unrelenting Sixers side.

As you may have expected, the home fans inside Madison Square Garden went absolutely wild as they watched their team come back from the dead to secure a crucial win in Game 2. So much so, that the entire arena was still rocking well after the final buzzer.

This prompted an epic shoutout from DiVincenzo during his post-game interview:

“I mean, listen to this,” DiVincenzo said, referencing the MSG home crowd. “This is what we do. This is who we do it for. That’s it. 2-0.”

This is exactly why there’s no place like Madison Square Garden. The fans play a crucial role in making this one of the most exhilarating stadiums in the world, and this was on full display on Monday night.

It was DiVincenzo’s go-ahead triple with 13.1 seconds remaining in the game that proved to be the deciding play of what turned out to be a real spectacle. However, it was a concerted effort by the entire Knicks squad to power through this victory.

New York will now be looking to close out this series as it shifts to Philadelphia for Games 3 and 4.
