The Oklahoma City Thunder are without a doubt one of the biggest revelations of the season throughout the entire NBA. As of writing, they own a 52-23 record and are currently just 0.5 games behind the No. 1 seed and defending champs Denver Nuggets in the West.
There’s also no denying that OKC’s rise has a lot to do with rookie sensation Chet Holmgren taking the basketball world by storm in his debut season.
Just ask LeBron James.
Oklahoma City Thunder Rookie Chet Holmgren Draws Chris Bosh Comparison

Speaking on a recent episode of the Mind the Game podcast, LeBron and JJ Redick talked about the emergence of Holmgren. Redick brought Chris Bosh into the conversation as a figure Holmgren reminds him of:
“I think about Chris Bosh, and it makes me think of Chet Holmgren,” Redick said “… What makes the [Thunder] so great is their ability to drive the basketball and then kick. … Then all of a sudden, Chet comes in and unlocks everything.”
For his part, James knows Bosh extremely well. He won two championships with the Miami Heat alongside Bosh, so he definitely knows a thing or two about what the Hall of Fame big man brings to the table.

After acknowledging Redick’s comparison of Holmgren and Bosh, LeBron then vocalized his agreement:
“For sure,” LeBron agreed. “No question about it. He changes the dynamic of everything.”
Chet Holmgren unlocked the Thunder’s ability to maximize their offense.

James also gave us a peep into his basketball mind by describing the technical aspect of Holmgren’s game and how he significantly improves the Thunder’s offense. LeBron acknowledged that defending a Holmgren and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander-led offense is going to be extremely difficult, but at the same time, he already has a plan on how to do so should the Lakers and OKC get pitted against each other in the postseason.
Of course, he does.
