The Purdue Boilermakers have done it. They have booked their place in the Final Four after taking down No. 2 seed Tennessee Volunteers on Sunday, 72-66.
This was thanks in large part to a huge performance by big man Zach Edey, who exploded for 40 points in Purdue’s iconic victory.

Edey had arguably the biggest performance of his basketball career on Sunday. He finished with a career-high 40 points on 13-of-21 shooting, to go along with 16 rebounds, an assist, a steal, a block, and just two turnovers in 39 minutes of action.
After the game, the 21-year-old was understandably hyped over the victory, and he could not help but fire a savage parting shot at their opponents. According to Edey, it was a fatal mistake to underestimate the Boilermakers:
“They thought they knew us, man,” Edey said. “They thought they knew what we had in our hearts. I’ll promise you they didn’t. We’re f*cking winners. This what we do.”
It feels like this message is aimed not only at Tennessee but at anyone and everyone else who ever doubted Edey and Purdue.
Edey, who decided to come back for one final season with Purdue as a senior, also shared his reaction to sharing this special moment with his teammates:
“We still got two more games but man, I could not ask for a better team to spend it with,” he said.
"They thought they knew what we had in our hearts. I'll promise you they didn't. We're f—— winners. This what we do."
