Cameron Brink and the Stanford Cardinal’s season may have ended in a way that they didn’t want, but for Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry, his godsister and their team can be proud of what they have accomplished.
Curry shared as much as he showered Brink with plenty of love as the WNBA-bound star sent her farewell to college basketball and Stanford.
Stephen Curry’s Message for Stanford Cardinal Star Cameron Brink
Brink and the Cardinal failed to go past the Sweet 16 after bowing down to NC State on Friday. It was quite the heartbreaking finish for Brink, as she actually fouled out early in the fourth quarter after a monster performance that saw her tally 13 points, nine rebounds and seven blocks.
Without her to anchor the defense, the Cardinal were unable to hold on as they eventually succumbed to the Wolfpack, 77-67.
Despite Stanford leaving the NCAA Tournament earlier than expected, Curry couldn’t be more proud of Brink and what she has done in her collegiate career.
On Instagram, the Warriors star shared Brink’s “Thank you” message for college basketball and Stanford and captioned it with a short but sweet message: “You left your mark!! Job well done Cam.”
True enough, Brink has left a lasting legacy in Stanford. And while she was unable to win another national title with the team, there’s no doubt that she’ll go down as one of the best to ever wear a Cardinal jersey.
As Stephen Curry emphasized, she left her mark on the program, especially with the NCAA Championship she won in 2021, as well as one first-team All-American honor, two Pac-12 Player of the Year awards, and three Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year titles.
Cameron Brink’s Message for Stanford Cardinal
Despite their rather disappointing finish in the 2024 NCAA Tournament, Cameron Brink remains appreciative of their journey in the competition.
After their lost, Brink shared that she’s a bit happy that she was able to play her final collegiate game in Oregon, where she played high school. She also reflected on the amazing career she has had, adding that she’s at peace with how it ended.
“It’s amazing. If I have to lose anywhere, in front of family and friends is the way I’d want to do it. Playing in front of them my last college game ever really meant a lot to me. I think I’m really at peace with my career and how it went. We just came up short today. I just feel really lucky. I’m sitting here feeling really lucky and really blessed,” Brink said, via Brenna Greene of KOIN News.
There’s no denying that Brink will always be remembered as one of the best to ever play collegiate women’s hoops. Sure enough, plenty of eyes will be on her as she takes the next step in her career.
