Team USA is not messing around. After their embarrassing fourth-place finish in last summer’s FIBA World Cup Tournament, the Americans are making sure that they bring home the gold medal in the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris.
11 out of the 12 players on the final roster have reportedly been finalized, and there’s no denying that the squad is absolutely stacked.
Team USA News: LeBron James, Stephen Curry Lead 11-Man Roster
As expected, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, LeBron James, will lead the charge for another Team USA redemption run. He will be joined by the greatest shooter ever, Stephen Curry, along with 10 other bona fide superstars:

I just don’t see any team beating this squad in the Olympics, especially with Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr sitting at the helm. There’s no denying that the gold medal is for Team USA to lose.
Who’s No. 12?
Kerr and his coach staff have yet to decide on the final spot of the roster, though. They obviously have no shortages of choices across the NBA.
According to a report by Shams Charania and Joe Vardon of The Athletic, however, the front-runner for the final spot is currently Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard:
“Teams are permitted to take 12 players to the Olympics. Kawhi Leonard is the leading candidate for the USA vacancy with Paul George, Paolo Banchero, Mikal Bridges and Jalen Brunson also under consideration, sources told The Athletic,” read the report.
The other four candidates aren’t bad at all either, with Jalen Brunson, in particular, having an MVP-worthy season with the New York Knicks.
