Bronny James has yet to make a final decision on his future. After deciding to leave the USC Trojans, he’s now assessing his NBA Draft and transfer portal options.
Should he decide to play one more year in college, however, there are already a number of teams being linked to him.
Bronny James Transfer Portal Favorites

Previously, the Ohio State Buckeyes have been mentioned as the favorites to land the son of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James should he decide to enter the transfer portal. To recall, the Buckeyes were one of Bronny’s choices heading to college before he eventually opted to join the Trojans.
LeBron himself has been a big fan of Ohio State and is often seen on social media rooting for the Buckeyes. With that said, it’s not a surprise why the program would want Bronny as well.
However, based on the latest odds, there’s a new favorite that has emerged for Bronny: the Duquesne Dukes. Per BetOnline AG, Duquesne now has +200 odds to get Bronny, with Ohio State falling to second at +300. Oregon, a team that was also in the running for Bronny before entering college, is also at +400.
Other programs mentioned are SMU (+700), Akron (+1000), North Carolina (+1000), San Diego State (+1200), Duke (+1200), UCLA (+1200) and Michigan State (+1200).
The Duquesne link isn’t a big surprise. For everyone following the Dukes, they should know that the team was previously coached by LeBron’s High School coach Keith Dambrot. After Dambrot stepped down and retired following the 2024 NCAA Tournament, the team promoted associate head coach Dru Joyce III to take over.

Joyce was teammates with LeBron in high school, and the Lakers star was even supportive of his good friend when he was announced as the new basketball head coach of Duquesne.
It remains to be seen what Bronny will end up doing, but it will definitely be interesting to see his potential transfer to Duquesne.
Should Bronny James Return to College or Go to the NBA?

Bronny James had a rather underwhelming freshmen season at USC, but for a reason. Remember, Bronny suffered a cardiac arrest and had to miss plenty of time as he recovers.
After he returned to the court, he needed more time to adjust and get back to his previous level. And in a USC team filled with star power, it was just hard for him to cement a consistent role after all the time he missed. Bronny put up just 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 0.8 steal in 25 games (six starts) for the Trojans in 2023-24.
Bronny did show flashes of brilliance, with his defense particularly standing out. However, many fans and experts believe he will be better off returning to college in order to further polish his skills. In fact, ESPN even removed him from their 2024 mock draft amid expectations that he’ll return to college for one more year.
For now, fans can only wait and see on what decision Bronny will make about his basketball future.
