Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark is showing a lot of frustration during her first 10 games in the WNBA. She has multiple technical fouls and if she receives anymore she can potentially get suspended for game or more. She feels like she is getting “hammered” by players and refs with altercations and disagreements leading to technical fouls. If Clark gets three more technicals she can face a possible game suspension.
Caitlin Clark Showing Frustration In Indiana Fever Games
After Thursday nights loss to the Seattle Storm, Clark has shown a lot of emotion during games. On Thursday against the Storm, Clark got into it with Storm’s Guard Victoria Vivian’s. The two players “bumped” into each other after Clark drained a 3-pointer. After the play was over, Vivian’s bumped Clark again and Caitlin Clark was having none of that and got into the guards face.
For Clark, perhaps the biggest challenge is to adjust to the physically, professionalism and play of the WNBA. She has shown some frustrating remarks in press conferences in the past few days.
She has told reporters after the loss against the Sparks ” I think everyone is physical with me, they get away with things that probably other people don’t get away with.” She also added ” It’s tough but that is the fact of the matter. This is a very physical game and your going to get pressure, this is professional basketball.”
Caitlin Clark is Still the Favorite for Rookie of the Year
Despite off to a rocky start in the WNBA, Clark has found her game in the past few games. She is averaging 17.6 points a game, 5.1 rebounds and 6.6 assists per game. This is despite the Indiana’s Fever poor start to the season at 1-8. The Fever are taking on the Chicago Sky Saturday at 12 pm. This is a highly anticipated game with Sky’s star Angel Reese. This will be the first matchup against the Sky this season.
Caitlin Clark is still the heavy favorite to win the Rookie of the Year award. If she performs well for the rest of the season and stays out of the refs radar she can potentially win at the end of the year.
The Fever are going to try and get a win in front of their home crowd. This will be the first of four meeting against the Sky and the start of the Commissioner’s Cup.
