Much like Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark, Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese is making waves in the WNBA right now. Her latest feat has somehow achieved franchise history in a recent game against the Seattle Storm.
Before entering the WNBA, Reese made a name for herself by winning the NCAA championship with the LSU Tigers over a year ago. Even though she lost to Clark’s Iowa Hawkeyes a few months ago, she still ended up with enough attention and talent to be drafted by the Sky using their seventh pick.

Since then, Reese has performed well for Chicago during her debut as a professional hooper. Over the course of five games, the forward has averaged 12.0 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.2 steals. She’s also connecting 37 percent of her field goals and 66 percent from the free throw line.
Just recently, Reese dropped 11 points, 12 assists, three assists, and two steals against the Seattle Storm. Even though they lost with a score of 77-68, the talent she has shown through that contest has made head turn towards her direction.
Chicago Sky Rookie Angel Reese Makes Franchise History In Feat Only Seen Once Before

Reese’s recent feat of getting a double-double within the first five games happened only once in the Sky’s history. This is shown in a tweet by Basketball Reference on X.
“Angel Reese has joined Sylvia Fowles as the only players to record a double-double for the @ChicagoSky within their first 5 career games. #WNBA,” Basketball Reference tweeted.
As it stands, the Sky are fielding an offense ranked seventh out of 12 teams in the WNBA. Meanwhile, their offense is in fifth place in the entire league. With Reese in the lineup, there’s a good chance she can use her talents to boost that rating a bit further.

There’s no question that greatness comes with Reese in her first year in the league. With this feat under her cap, sky is certainly the limit for the Chicago rookie.
