Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic just never ceases to amaze adoring basketball fans. On Sunday night, the 25-year-old turned in another masterclass as he torched the Houston Rockets en route to a 125-107 victory.
Doncic dropped a cool 47 points in the win as the Mavs snapped Houston’s scorching-hot 11-game winning streak. Two of Luka’s points came in the most amazing fashion.
Dallas Mavericks Coach Jason Kidd Has High Praise for Luka Doncic
After dropping 32 points on six triples in the opening half of action, Doncic wasted no time getting on the board after the break. The five-time All-Star hit what was easily the toughest shot he took all night long early in the third quarter. The way he made his underhanded scoop shot from the 3-point line look so easy is simply astounding:
The Rockets broadcast team was in utter disbelief after seeing that wild shot hit the bottom of the net. You can also hear the genuine reaction of a dumbfounded Houston home crowd. Even Doncic himself could not help but smile after hitting that impossible deuce.
Mavs head coach Jason Kidd has been around long enough to see some insane stuff from his superstar guard, but even Kidd himself was pretty floored by what he witnessed from Doncic on Sunday night:
“We’ve been lucky enough to be around him for three years,” Kidd said. “… Picasso when you give him the paintbrush, he’s going to do something special, and that shot was pretty special.”
