“We knew how special this year was going to be just based on our practices, what Luka was doing, showcasing that all the time, really being more vocal, challenging his teammates, challenging me and doing it in his own way. That’s the true sign of an MVP,” Irving said via a tweet posted by Joey Mistretta on X.
This season, Doncic is averaging almost a triple-double by making 33.9 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 9.8 assists on a nightly basis. He has also become the franchise leader for most triple-doubles made with 78 of them under his name.

It remains to be seen whether Doncic can beat Denver Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic or Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Nevertheless, the Mavs’ star is putting up a strong case for MVP against the two aforementioned players.
