When it comes to the NFL, Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes II is the biggest name out there, especially after winning the Super Bowl this year. Turns out, he can do so much more after Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry saw his basketball highlights from high school.
Just recently, Austin Rivers claimed that NBA players will have no problem transitioning into the NFL. On the other hands, athletes from that league may have a harder time playing professional basketball. This claim caused players from both leagues to give their take on the matter, both active and retired.

Without any surprise, the son of Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers placed himself right in the middle of so much criticism, particularly from NFL stars. Former Green Bay Packers wide receiver James Jones even claimed that Rivers wouldn’t last in the league he played for because the basketball player didn’t last in the NBA.
Even if that’s the case, Mahomes kept quiet throughout the whole issue. The same can be said about Curry too as he spent the offseason winning awards and preparing for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Nevertheless, the heated issue between Rivers and the NFL stars he pissed off may have died down from its peak a couple of months ago.

Contrary to the beef Rivers instigated against NFL players, Curry went the other way to check out Mahomes’ game back in high school. In a video shared by NBA on ESPN’s official X account.

Both Mahomes and Curry have transcended their respective sports by changing the game and winning countless accolades from both the NBA and NFL. For his part, the Warriors’ All-Star guard is a four-time champion who has led the way in the league’s three-point revolution over the past few years. He has also transformed the Golden State Warriors from a mediocre squad to a dominant franchise and a dynasty.

It’s safe to say Mahomes’ talent exceeds the field, all the way to the court. Due to the revelation of his high school experience playing basketball, there’s another layer to his rise in popularity. And with Curry’s stamp of approval, the Chiefs quarterback has certainly risen to another level.
