Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James put on a show on Sunday night as he led his team to a 116-104 road win over the Brooklyn Nets. The four-time NBA champ flipped the switch from elite playmaker to sharpshooting 3-point marksman as LeBron set a new career high in efficiency in what turned out to be another mind-blowing performance from the 39-year-old.

The King just never ceases to amaze us.

LeBron matched his season high in 2023-24 with a 40-point masterpiece on Sunday. He showcased his unbridled scoring prowess as he reminded every basketball fan out there why he is the NBA’s all-time leading scorer.

James went 13-of-17 from the field in this one, while also knocking down nine out of his 10 attempts from deep. As pointed out by StatMuse on Twitter, LeBron’s 101.8 true shooting percentage is another career-best mark for the future Hall of Famer:

    13-17 FG

The nine triples also matched LeBron’s career-high from beyond the arc.

Sunday’s win was an important one for the Lakers as well, as they now improve to 42-33. They are currently just one game behind the eight-seeded Sacramento Kings, who are also in action on Sunday against the Utah Jazz.

LeBron and Co. return to action on Tuesday and Wednesday in their final back-to-back set of the season. They take on the Toronto Raptors and the Washington Wizards to close out what has been a successful six-game road trip thus far.
