Minnesota Timberwolves superstar Anthony Edwards detonated on Tuesday night against the Washington Wizards. The 22-year-old went off for a career-high 51 points to lead Minnesota to back-to-back wins and in the process, strengthen their grip on the top seed in the West.
The Wolves are in action again on Wednesday when they face off against Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets, who happen to be just half a game behind Minnesota for the top spot in the conference.
For his part, Edwards fully intends to keep his foot on the gas.
Minnesota Timberwolves News: Anthony Edwards Ready to Go for Marquee Showdown Vs. Nuggets
With just three games remaining on the schedule for Minnesota, it’s likely that Wednesday’s clash against the defending champs will determine which team will finish as the top seed in the West.
Edwards is well aware of this fact, and when asked if he has anything left in the tank for the Nuggets after his gargantuan effort on Tuesday night, the two-time All-Star responded affirmatively:

You just know that the Jokic and Co. will be ready as well in what should be a mouthwatering battle between the two top teams in the conference.
Edwards was also asked about his reaction to news about Karl-Anthony Towns nearing his much-anticipated return to action. Needless to say, the Minnesota guard is excited for KAT’s return to the lineup:

Towns probably won’t be available for Wednesday’s clash against Denver, but he should be back sooner rather than later. With Edwards leading the charge, however, the Timberwolves are more than capable of putting up a real fight against the champs.
