Whether he likes it or not, Bronny James is one of the biggest names in the 2024 NBA Draft. While he won’t likely end up in any of the top spots, the mere fact that he’s the son of LeBron James should be enough for some teams to take a serious look at him and determine whether he can make any meaningful contributions to their team as a basketball player.
There are plenty of question marks on Bronny’s transition from the college game to the pros. It’s hard to deny that he barely showed enough in his collegiate career to convince teams he’s worth investing draft capital on properly.
Whether Bronny gets drafted in the first round of this year’s draft hinges on how he performed in the Draft Combine. It’s been a proven platform that players with low draft scores use to boost their chances of getting a higher draft ranking.
The younger James understood that his performance in this year’s Combine will determine whether he gets selected in the first round or not. Fortunately for him, he’s impressing scouts and executives with his performance.
One particular drill was a highlight due to how well he performed despite his pre-existing medical condition.
Bronny James boosts his 2024 NBA Draft stock with a solid performance in the shooting drill
Bronny James was one of the most outstanding prospects during the Combine’s shooting drill. The drill tests a player’s ability to shoot well even when tired.
The USC Trojan was one of the drill’s top performers, shooting 19 of the 25 shots he made. What makes his feat more impressive was that he had the hot hand during the drill, making 11 straight shots in the process.
Bronny just went a full minute and 15 seconds without missing in movement shooting drill, which is also a test for conditioning, shooting when tired. Impressive stuff here pic.twitter.com/SD6p95cK07

For a player who wasn’t touted to finish at the top of his draft class, it’s impressive that Bronny is making a name for himself as a shooter. There aren’t any major flaws in his shooting form, and his consistency while running puts any questions about his health behind him.
However, it cannot be denied that his stats during his lone year with the Trojans is dragging his draft stock down. He needs to do a lot of convincing before the 2024 NBA Draft if he even wants to be in striking distance of the lottery.
