The New York Knicks have not had the services of Julius Randle since January 27. OG Anunoby, on the other hand, has been out of action since mid-March, as the Knicks continue to navigate the season with two of their most important players on the roster.
As it turns out, this could be the case for them the rest of the way.
Will New York Knicks Get Julius Randle, OG Anunoby Back This Season?
Knick forward Josh Hart spoke to reporters following Sunday’s heartbreaking 113-112 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. When asked to share his thoughts on the injury status of Randle and Anunoby, Hart hinted that both players could be done for the season:
“I’m looking at it like this is the team that we’re going to have. I think that’s how we have to approach it,” Hart said. “… We’ll be pleasantly surprised if they come back.”

To be clear, Hart isn’t stating facts here. As he said, he is not part of the medical conversation surrounding their two stars, and this is merely the mindset he believes the Knicks should take on heading into the postseason.
Be that as it may, Hart’s lack of optimism here could be telling. I’m pretty sure he has some sort of idea where both Randle and Anunoby stand in terms of their respective roads to recovery, and the fact that Hart is already considering the possibility of not getting either of them back this year speaks volumes.
