Ever since he was traded to the Sacramento Kings in 2022, Domantas Sabonis has put up the best numbers of his career. Turns out, the All-Star big man has proving he’s better than Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis in the several times they faced each other.
Before he was acquired by the Kings, Sabonis established himself as one of the best passing big men in the NBA. In the five seasons he played for Indiana, the All-Star center averaged 16.3 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game. For his work with the Pacers, Sabonis was named to two All-Star Games in 2020 and 2021.

While Sabonis’ time in Indiana helped elevate his career, it came to a point where the team has hit a ceiling. This led Sacramento ko acquire him for a package headlined by Tyrese Haliburton.
Since then, the big man has found another gear in his bag by averaging 19.5 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 7.8 assists. For his part, Anthony Davis, arguably has put up better stats with the Lakers by averaging 24.7 points, 10.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.2 steals, and 2.2 blocks per game.
Sacramento Kings’ Domantas Sabonis Has Been Dominating Anthony Davis For Quite Some Time Now

While most of the focus has been on De’Aaron Fox and LeBron James for their respective teams, the perceived rivalry between Sabonis and Davis is another highlight whenever the Lakers and Kings go to battle. But thanks to a tweet posted by StatMuse on X, it seems the Sacramento star is the clear winner:

As seen in the stats above, Sabonis is ahead of Davis in every area except scoring. But with how the Kings swept Los Angeles this season, it’s safe to say he’s the difference maker who allowed Sacramento to come out on top.

It remains to be seen which team will go further in the postseason. What’s clear, though, is Sabonis is one of the few men in the league who can actually stop Davis whenever he’s on the court.
