There’s no denying that the Washington Wizards have been bad all season long. The thing is, even after getting a win against the Miami Heat, they still aren’t looking very good because of one surprising record they made.
In that particular game, the Wizards overcame a Miami Heat team with a score of 110-108. Washington saw all of its starters score in double figures, with Kyle Kuzma’s 32 points leading the pack. Corey Kispert made 22 points, Tyus Jones added 12, Billy Coulibaly had 11, and Deni Avdija contributed 16 points.

On the other side of the fence, the Heat were led by Jimmy Butler‘s 23 points while Bam Adebayo had 16 points and 16 rebounds. Both Terry Rozier and Duncan Robinson added 16 points for their team.
Even though the Wizards got the win, they are still tied with the Detroit Pistons at 10-53, the worst record in the NBA at this point in time. The Heat, meanwhile, hold the sixth spot in the Eastern Conference with a 35-28 record.
Washington Wizards Record After Win Against Miami Heat Makes The Former Even More Embarrassing

While most fans see the Wizards win as a good development, the record they made this season actually makes them look more bad. In a tweet posted by Anthony Chiang on X:
“Tonight’s victory over the Heat only marked the Wizards’ second win this season vs. a team currently with a winning record. The other came against the Pacers on Dec. 15,” Chiang tweeted.
Essentially, the Wizards have been a punching bag for almost every contender in the NBA this season. With only a win against Indiana and Miami, it only reinforces Washington’s poor performance during the past few months.

With the regular season winding down, there’s zero probability the Wizards will make a run and surge all the way to the playoffs. Hopefully, Washington’s front office makes the right moves in the offseason to make them more competitive next season.
