The Atlanta Hawks defeated the Chicago Bulls 113-101 on Monday night. But one of the biggest stories of the match was when Bogdan Bogdanovic and head coach Quin Snyder were caught on camera having a heated exchange on the sidelines.
This happened within the last two minutes when the Atlanta Hawks were comfortably ahead 113-96. During a timeout, the Serbian combo guard threw a water bottle onto the ground before shouting and pointing his finger toward Snyder. The rest of the team had to intervene to separate them.
However, after the verbal spat, Bogdan Bogdanovic and Quin Snyder were seen hugging and shaking hands as if nothing happened. During the postgame press conference, Bogdanovic downplayed the incident, saying that such confrontations between him and his head coach are normal.
“We are doing this almost every other minute, or we are verbally fighting all the time, which is normal,” Bogdanovic said about Snyder via Lauren Williams. “That means we both care, and everyone cares.”
“Quin is my guy, for sure. And, he pushed me through the whole year. We had this like, fights, little fights. It’s normal that happens,” he added.
Quin Snyder praised Bogdan Bogdanovic for leading the Atlanta Hawks
After the game, Atlanta Hawks head coach Quin Snyder praised Bogdan Bogdanovic, following his efficient performance in the blowout victory against the Chicago Bulls, as the 31-year-old scored a team-high 20 points, six assists, four rebounds, and two blocks while going 6-of-7 from the field and 6-of-6 from the charity stripe.
Bogdan Bogdanovic has been on a tear in his last three games, averaging 27.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 3.0 three-pointers per game.
“Bogi was terrific, and he and I are in a great place,” Snyder said about Bogdanovic after the victory. “I mean better than good, great. And I love how he played as well. He’s defending, which has been a point of pride for him. The night he had, he was as efficient as you can be.”
Vit Krejci also had a great game for the Atlanta Hawks because he had 18 points, four rebounds, three assists, and six three-pointers made, while Dejounte Murray had 17 points, eight rebounds, and six assists.
The Atlanta Hawks have won five of their last six and are one game behind the ninth-seeded Chicago Bulls in the Eastern Conference standings following the win. They will be up against the Detroit Pistons next.
