The struggling Indiana Fever were dealt with more bad news. After losing to the Los Angeles Sparks at home on Tuesday, Fever forward Temi Fagbenle reportedly will be missing multiple weeks of action due to a lower-body injury suffered in that contest.

Indiana Fever starting forward Temi Fagbenle suffered a left foot injury in Tuesday’s loss v Sparks. She will be re-evaluated in 2-3 weeks. Guard Erica Wheeler (personal reasons) has already been ruled out for Thursday’s game v Storm.
Indiana Fever loses Temi key player to injury

Although Fagbenle’s injury doesn’t seem to be a season-ending one, her absence will put more strain in Indiana’s rotation, particularly in the frontcourt. For one, she is the only natural center listed on the Fever’s roster. Without her, Aliyah Boston can be expected to carry more load on both ends of the floor.
Against the Sparks, Fagbenle played 32 minutes and recorded six points on 3/5 shooting from the field to go with a team-best seven rebounds. The Fever lost to Los Angeles, 88-82, despite Fagbenle’s solid effort and the dazzling showing of super rookie Caitlin Clark, who erupted for 30 points.
So far in the 2024 WNBA season, Fagbenle is averaging 9.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks through eight games, including a couple of starts.

The 1-7 Fever will look to break a two-game skid and survive the absence of Fagbenle this Thursday when the y face off against the Seattle Storm at home.
