Caitlin Clark went full Kobe Bryant after she powered the Iowa Hawkeyes to their third straight Big Ten title on Sunday against the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
It was a well-deserved moment, however, especially after the Hawkeyes had to erase an 11-point halftime deficit to beat the Cornhuskers.
Iowa Hawkeyes’ Caitlin Clark Had a Kobe Bryant Moment

After their win, Clark took a photo with the Big Ten championship trophy. In it, the superstar recreated one of the most iconic poses in any basketball title win: Bryant’s serious-looking pose while wearing a hat and a jacket from the 2001 championship.
While Clark didn’t have a jacket and the Big Ten trophy was too big for her to carry, she did imitate the overall pose. The Iowa Women’s Basketball X account shared the photo to the delight of the Hawkeyes faithful.

Clark certainly couldn’t have chosen a better pose to use. After all, she and the rest of the Hawkeyes did show their Mamba Mentality in the showdown with Nebraska to win the title.
Not to mention that when Kobe did the same pose back in 2001, he and the Los Angeles Lakers just won their second straight NBA championship.
Caitlin Clark, Iowa Hawkeyes Channels Kobe Bryant in Comeback vs. Nebraska

Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes certainly channeled their inner Kobe Bryant on Sunday after seeing the Nebraska Cornhuskers take a 46-35 lead at halftime.
Clark struggled big time to start the contest, failing to make a triple at the half after going 0-for-9 from deep.
Fortunately, the Hawkeyes were able to pick things up in the third quarter and tied the game. In the fourth quarter after they were pushed to the brink, Clark delivered the game-tying shot with 29.3 seconds left to tie the game at 77-77 and force overtime.

The Cornhuskers had the chance to win in the fourth, but the Hawkeyes defense shut them down. In the overtime period, Iowa got the job done after they outscored Nebraska 17-12 behind key baskets and big stops from Clark, Gabbie Marshall and Kate Martin.
Despite the win, though, Clark and the Hawkeyes surely know what Kobe always says: job’s not over … at least not until they win the big prize.
