Iowa Hawkeyes superstar Caitlin Clark showed the entire basketball world just what she’s made of during their iconic Elite Eight victory against Angel Reese and the LSU Tigers. This was a rematch of the 2023 national championship, which saw Clark and Co. heartbreakingly settle for second place after losing to the mighty Tigers.
LSU had more than enough time to prepare for Clark and her offensive genius, but as it turns out, their game plan against the NCAA Division I all-time leading scorer was put to waste. The Tigers simply had no answer for Clark as she dropped 41 points in a masterful performance to lead Iowa to the Final Four.
Trae Young Explains Iowa Hawkeyes Star Caitlin Clark’s Offensive Prowess
One player who was tuned in to Clark’s heroic performance against LSU was Atlanta Hawks superstar Trae Young. The three-time All-Star is a certified baller as well, and he certainly knows a thing or two about giving his defenders nightmares.
When asked what he thinks would be the best approach to try and stop a player like Clark, Young acknowledged that there’s just no guarding this young lady:
“You can’t,” Young said on a recent episode of his podcast. “It’s crazy. … What she’s doing is unbelievable.
“… She was just doing step-backs, and side steps, and dribbling in the lane, dribbling back out, and then shooting threes.”

I see no lies here.
There has been a lot of talk about Clark potentially entering the NBA, so perhaps Young could get his chance to match up against the 6-foot guard sometime in the future. Perhaps Trae would have a defensive gameplan against Clark by then?
