UConn Huskies fans were unhappy with a call that went the Iowa Hawkeyes’ way at the end of regulation Friday night. The Hawkeyes overcame a double-digit first-half deficit to defeat the Huskies 71-69. The win will propel the Hawkeyes to the national championship game on Sunday afternoon against South Carolina.
The Iowa Hawkeyes didn’t get off to a fast start

The Hawkeyes started out slow, trailing by six points at halftime. However, turnovers and fouls haunted UConn for most of the game. UConn was called for 18 fouls on the night, while Iowa was called for half as many. Some people watching the game thought the refs were keeping Iowa in the game by calling so many fouls against UConn.
The UConn Huskies were called for an unfortunate foul

One foul call affected the outcome. With four seconds left in the fourth quarter, UConn’s Aaliyah Edwards was called for a moving screen. The play gave Iowa the ball with a one-point lead, essentially ending any chance of a UConn win or tie.
A video of the foul appeared on social media. Many fans think it looks a little suspicious, as Edwards didn’t lean too hard into the Iowa defender. However, a foul is still a foul, even if it’s minor.

If ever there has been a game to be investigated for being fixed, UCONN vs. Iowa is it. No way was the NCAA or Disney/ABC going to allow a title game that didn’t involve Clark. That bogus offensive call proved it. #rigged
