LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers got back to winning ways on Monday with a huge win over the Atlanta Hawks. After losing back-to-back games, the Lakers secured their first victory in style via a 136-105 blowout against a Trae Young-less Hawks side.
While this may have been an impressive showing by LA, Hall of Famer turned Fox Sports analyst Paul Pierce is adamant that this win means absolutely nothing.
Paul Pierce Calls Out Los Angeles Lakers
Pierce was not at all impressed by the Lakers’ big win on Monday. This is despite the fact that LeBron, Anthony Davis, and D’Angelo Russell all scored at least 22 points each, combining for 74 points between them.
The Truth dropped a harsh truth bomb on the Lakers and their on-again, off-again campaign:
“I need to see them do this consistently against good teams. This means nothing,” he said.

You have to take this commentary with a bit of salt. After all, Pierce is a Boston Celtics legend, which means that he isn’t exactly the biggest Lakers supporter out there. He’s far from being LeBron’s No. 1 fan, too. Moreover, the former ESPN analyst made his claim on Fox Sports’ Undisputed program with Skip Bayless, who is arguably James’ most avid naysayer.
Then again, there’s also no denying that Pierce does have a point here. Unless the Lakers are able to show some consistency, this could be another wasted season for LeBron and Co.
