New York Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau either completely trusts you or he doesn’t — there is no in between. Miles McBride has been on both ends of the spectrum this season.
McBride has quickly become one of Thibodeau’s favorites over the past week. He’s played at least 44 minutes in each of the Knicks’ last three contests.
The 3-game stretch comes just after McBride played less than 12 minutes last week in a 98-91 win over the Sacramento Kings.
Miles McBride’s Brother Perfectly Summed Up The New York Knicks’ Rotations Under Tom Thibodeau
McBride on Saturday became just the second player to play all 48 minutes of a game this season during a matinee game against the Brooklyn Nets. The other player is unsurprisingly Knicks forward Josh Hart, who has had Thibs’ favor since he arrived via trade from the Portland Trail Blazers last season.
McBride’s brother Trey, also a professional hooper, summed up the “Tom Thibodeau experience” on X while the Knicks-Nets game was ongoing.
“To go from not getting any minutes to getting every minute….the Tom Thibodeau experience,” said Trey McBride along with a laughing emoji.

“There’s nothing that you don’t love about Deuce [McBride]. From the moment we drafted him and even when he wasn’t playing. That tells you a lot,” said Thibodeau during his postgame press conference Saturday.

New York Knicks Guard Miles McBride Is Making The Most Of His Boost In Playing Time
The younger McBride has certainly made it easier for Thibodeau to trust him of late.
McBride outshot Stephen Curry three games ago to the tune of 29 points and 6 threes on 9/13 shooting during a 119-112 win over the Golden State Warriors. McBride followed that up with 26 points and 6 threes on 9/16 shooting in a 105-93 win over the Nets in a game wherein he played every single second of action.
McBride permanently entered Thibodeau’s rotation in late December. He’s played in 39 straight contests and his minutes have gone up of late due to the Knicks’ myriad of injuries. McBridge had played over 10 minutes in just three of the Knicks’ first 31 games this season with 13 DNPs.
McBride has been trying out a new tactic to make sure he stays on the court. It’s called not looking over at the Knicks’ bench to see if they’re subbing him out.
